JAMES MORASCO

The only known public mention of anyone ever seriously believing in the idea of resurrecting dead Earthlings on planet Jupiter via the writings of Arnold J. Toynbee and Stanley Kubrick was in an teeny, nine-sentence article in a March, 1983 issue of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Inquirer staff writer Clark DeLeon wrote a human-interest piece on a man named James Morasco who fronted a Philadelphia-based group called the Minority Association, who were working towards the resurrection theory and goal. The article reveals very little, but is the only known information on Mr. Morasco, the Minority Association, or any person or group believing in such things.

Through communication with DeLeon, we learned a few more things about Mr. Morasco - he was a resident of Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood (which is approximately 10 miles from the South Philadelphia address on the Chilean Tile,) and he claimed not to be the Tile artist, but to know who the Tile artist was.

The only James Morasco in the Philadelphia phone book was a resident of the Chestnut Hill neighborhood, a good 20 miles from Fishtown. This Mr. Morasco was born in 1915, which means he would've been in his 70s and 80s when the bulk of the Tileing was done. Additionally, public property records indicate that he owned his Chestnut Hill house from 1940 until his death in 2003, which makes it unlikely that he would've identified himself as being from Fishtown; thus, we don't believe that this Mr. Morasco is our man. It is interesting to note, however, that his death roughly coincided with the disappearance of the "old-school" Tiles.
