DAVID MAMET
David Mamet is a prominent name in both showbusiness and the literary world. His credits stretch across countless genres and media, and is difficult to pin down due to his frequent use of pseudonyms.
His involvement with the Toynbee Tiles phenomenon is most peculiar. In 1983, he published a short play titled 4 AM about a radio talkshow host's routiene-sounding run-in with an eccentric conspiracy theorist. This conspiracy theorist espoused his belief in, you guessed it, resurrecting the dead on Jupiter through the teachings of Arnold J. Toynbee and Arthur C. Clarke. Where David Mamet got this character is unknown - and we'd sure like to know. Here is the entire single-act play.
